Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby Bourbon is a special release made to celebrate the historic Kentucky Derby! Woodford Reserve blends two of Kentucky’s finest exports, bourbon whiskey and thoroughbred horses, in its distillery. It is located within a horse farm, where both horses and whiskey mature side by side.

Woodford Reserve is crafted from a grain recipe of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Fermentation takes the longest - one of the longest in the industry. The whiskey is aged in new, charred, white oak barrels of their own making. Once you have a sip, you get rich caramel and dark toffee up front, followed by dried fruit, nutmeg, and a gentle rye spice in the back. The aroma is best described as warm, having baked apple, toasted caramel, and toasted oak notes.

At the heart of Woodford Reserve’s Kentucky Derby Bourbon is still their classic liquid gold. And speaking of gold, it received a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition most recently in 2023. It also won the same award in different years, specifically in 2005, 2011, and 2013. It’s not just a one-trick pony.
